de Sede, DS-5010 Sofa

Comfort, high-quality materials, and thoughtful design characterize de Sede’s upholstered furniture. For the DS-5010 series, a key objective was to simplify the traditional variety of materials and to use a material that combines stability, sound absorption, flexibility, and monomateriality. The solution chosen was acoustically effective felt, which, through its foldability, makes stools, tables, and sofas stable, easy to produce, and easy to transport.
Based on the same idea of reducing the material mix, the sofa series uses a polyester fleece that inherently provides high stability. Through targeted reinforcement of the surrounding surfaces, the tubular frame could be kept minimal and elegantly detailed.
The modular furniture pieces can be moved flexibly and combined in different configurations, allowing agile spatial concepts to be realized. At the same time, the series enables consistent adaptation from office to home environments – both in construction and materiality – and combines functionality with a clear, reduced aesthetic.
