Museo Mobile

Museo Mobile is a collaborative project of various museum institutions that flexibly addresses different user needs. Many modern exhibition formats are decoupled from their own premises and brought directly to the locations where the central content of the exhibition originates.

Simon Busse Studio developed an exhibition system that covers storage, transport, and presentation of the exhibits, including illuminated display cases. Its flexible adaptation to local conditions, available resources, and staff allows for fast, scalable solutions.

For the first exhibition, parts of the system were lent on-site to citizens, whose collected exhibits were then installed on and in the display furniture and integrated into the exhibition.

A key aspect of sustainability lies in “sufficiency”: only components that are actually needed are used. At the same time, Museo Mobile offers the possibility to present exhibitions not only in museum spaces but also directly at the original locations of the themes and exhibits.
